Why call the magazine ACPi?
ACPi is a quarterly publication covering Archiving, Conservation & Preservation. An international publication, in the library and museum sectors, Archiving is the professional process of selecting, preserving, and organizing unique, unpublished records generated by people, groups, or organizations for their permanent long-term value as historical evidence. Archives act as primary sources, unlike the often-secondary sources found in libraries, providing first-hand information about individuals, places, or events in various physical and digital formats, from documents and photographs to digital files and even objects.
In the library and museum sectors, Conservation encompasses the physical treatment, examination, documentation, and restoration of damaged objects to stabilize or repair them, often involving direct, hands-on work by a specialist conservator, while Preservation refers to all preventative, non-interventive measures taken to prolong the life of an item by controlling environmental factors.

International simply signifies the worldwide appeal and circulation of ACPi.
